MISSION STATEMENT
Tulsa Peoples’ Orchestra(TPO) 501c-3 is dedicated to serving the community of Greater Tulsa through musical participation and performance. Within the ensemble, we will cultivate a most positive environment for the growth of the individual. With challenging repertoire the group will learn musical concepts that directly correlate to positive human values, adding value with skill and virtue in tandem.
DEFINITION
Tulsa Peoples’ Orchestra(TPO) is made up of hobbyist musicians from the Greater Tulsa area and its surrounding towns. Any person above* the age of 18 is immediately eligible to apply for admission. Admission of any persons younger than 18 will be determined on a case-by-case basis and would require an approval process. TPO is self-managed and self-funded from its own tuition revenue. Any person who has been admitted and has paid summer tuition will have a place as a musician in the orchestra. Standard instrumentalists of the symphony orchestra are invited to apply, all others instruments are welcome to apply as well but will be accepted dependent on programming.
GOALS
Primarily, we are established to enrich the minds and soul of local musicians by developing musicianship and reinforcing positive human values. We will learn valuable. pedagogical techniques to the instrument, with positivity as a mindset and beauty as a result. We will work to collaborate and combine missions of multiple local performing non-profits by activating them for participation. We will practice playing together and for each other. Finally, we will bring together what we have crafted for the population of Tulsa and the rest of the world to see in our Classic Concert series.
